There are no toxic chemicals or stains used to treat the wood in our natural maple furniture. All our mattresses and bedding are made with organic cotton and wool. Wool is a natural fire retardant so no chemical retardants are used at all. Studies have shown that the chemical materials and fire retardants used in children's beds and bedding can cause a myriad of health problems, including SIDS. Start those little bodies off right in a healthy bed!
